Joining Ombudsfin

Ombudsfin asbl is a qualified entity that handles complaints against financial institutions affiliated with Ombudsfin.

Financial institutions that are members of the Belgian Financial Sector Federation (Febelfin) are automatically affiliated to Ombudsfin.

For lenders and credit intermediaries, the new recognition procedure with the FSMA also provides for affiliation with Ombudsfin asbl. As of November 2015, the creditor or credit intermediary who obtains his accreditation from the FSMA becomes a member of Ombudsfin.

More and more regulations or codes of conduct within the sector are requiring or recommending that financial institutions join an alternative dispute resolution system for handling complaints from private clients. To ensure proper management of these complaints, we invite you to designate a person within your institution who will be responsible for handling complaints and who will then become our contact person. Among other things, may we ask you to complete and submit the form below for this purpose.
